Homemade Pesto

No need for shop brought pesto anymore! This simple recipe is easy to make and having a jar of this in your fridge is a life-saver on busy evenings!


The fresh taste of your own lovingly created pesto will be leaps and bounds away from any shop brought creations.


Whizz up your own pesto and start using it on your salads, pastas, dips, chicken recipes. The list is completely endless, so get creating and start eating healthier!


Preparation time: 15 minutes - Serves 4

You will need:

- 1.5 cups fresh basil - 0.25 cup toasted pine nuts

- 0.75 cup Violife parmesan, grated - 0.75 cup olive oil

- 1 tsp minced garlic - 1 tsp tomato paste

- Seasonings


Method:

Place the fresh basil, pine nuts, parmesan, garlic and tomato in a blender-safe container or blender.


Begin blending the ingredients while slowly adding in the olive oil.


Season to taste and jar up and store in the fridge.
